Golden Discoveries

Hey folks - this is a special post because this week, I did my part to aid the economy (in addition to all the foreclosure research I'm doing in my day job, mind you). I feel the need to spread the word far and wide on the gems I've found...

This here is Yarn Chef "spun sugar" - a gorgeous 100% silk laceweight dyed beautifully by Katy in Columbus. I cannot stress enough how much you all need to get some of this, especially if you are a lace knitter. It is very high-quality work and Katy is a joy to work with! Head on over to etsy immediately and get shoppin'.

Also, I stumbled on a little shop on Solano Ave in Albany, CA called k2tog today - very friendly owner and a lovely little shop with a healthy selection of good stuff. Among the good stuff? Addi Turbo Lace needles! As in, the only needles I use anymore. I had never seen them in a store, and I was thrilled to get my hands on another pair. If you are in the Bay Area, wander on over and check out k2tog - and get some tasty falafel at Sophia's across the street while you're at it.

hi you, Glad to hear all is going well over in Berkeley for you - you are totally in my sister's hood. She lives off Solano near the movie theatre and K2tog is her store.. wonder if you ever passed each other on the street? Anyways, take care - and keep designing those gorgeous scarves - one day I'll get good enough with the lace to make 'em. :-)
